What is Prediabetes?
Prediabetes is when your blood sugar (or glucose) levels are higher than normal but not high enough to be called diabetes. It means your body is having trouble using sugar the way it should, which can lead to type 2 diabetes if not managed. You may not feel sick or see any changes with prediabetes. This is why regular check-ups with a provider are important to catch it early.
How is it treated?

Choosing foods, like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins can help with weight. Limit sugary drinks and snacks.

Moving your body helps it use insulin better and keeps blood sugar levels more balanced. Try to be active for at least 30 minutes most days. “Exercise” can look very different for each person – move your body as you are able! And always check with your doctor before starting a new exercise plan.

Even a small weight loss, like 5-7% of your body weight, can make a big difference.

Getting enough sleep helps your body handle sugar better.
